The Common Ground Party ("CGP", "we", "us", or "our") values your trust and is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, and disclose your personal information across our website and mobile application (collectively, the "Platform").

02. Information We Collect

To provide a constructive, engaging civic experience, we collect the following types of information:

  • Account Registration Information: Your username, email address, password, profile image, and bio when registering through our authentication provider (Clerk).
  • User Generated Content (UGC): Blog posts, headlines, body contents, cover photos, comments, claps, bookmarks, and chat messages sent in the Town Hall channels.
  • Device Information: Basic device telemetry (model, operating system, application logs) to aid in debugging and performance tuning.

03. How We Use Your Information

We process your data strictly to enable core Platform operations, including:

  • Authenticating users and protecting against fraudulent activity.
  • Delivering real-time messages and chat updates via Stream Chat.
  • Hosting blog articles, bookmarking feeds, claps, and comment sections.
  • Providing support and responding to system reports/moderation claims.

04. Data Sharing & Infrastructure Third-Parties

We do NOT sell your personal data. To power the platform, we utilize trusted infrastructure providers who are strictly bound to secure your data:

  • Clerk: For identity verification, secure login, and email verification workflows.
  • Supabase: For hosting database contents, storing blogs, claps, comments, bookmarks, and reported content.
  • GetStream: For hosting chat messages, direct messaging channels, and real-time typing indicators.

05. Your Rights & Account Deletion

We believe in absolute data ownership. You have the right to request access to or modify your personal info at any time.

Permanently Deleting Your Data:

You can delete your account at any time directly inside the mobile or web app. Tapping "Delete Account" in the settings screen will instantly trigger a cascade delete in Supabase, erasing your profile, articles, bookmarks, claps, comments, and associated authentication keys in Clerk.
